Downtown is an official Redmond neighborhood. The station area is one part of it; use the municipal map for an individual address.
Start at the station
Downtown Redmond Station is an operating 2 Line station. Sound Transit lists nearby stops at NE 76th Street and 164th Avenue NE, as well as Redmond Way and 166th Avenue NE. Walk from the entrance of the building you are considering to the entrance of the station you would use. That gives a more practical comparison than a straight-line distance.
A former rail corridor, now a local route
The Redmond Central Connector follows a former railroad corridor. Its Downtown section includes public art, while the larger trail reaches the Sammamish River Trestle and continues toward Willows Road. Redmond announced the final phase complete in 2025. It is an existing connection to explore, rather than a future amenity to assume will eventually arrive.
Different addresses, different routines
The municipal Downtown profile describes a mix of homes, businesses, hotels and parks. Redmond Town Center and the historic Downtown streets give a useful pair of reference points for a first visit. Try the route to your everyday errand, then return after business hours. Pay attention to delivery entrances, garage access and the position of bedrooms relative to the street.
Look beyond a building's amenities
A building tour should include its bicycle storage, package area and the route from the garage to the elevator. For a condominium, examine the association documents and planned work alongside the unit itself. A polished lobby cannot answer those questions. If an adjacent site appears in the municipal project list, read its current file before treating the existing outlook as settled.
Give NE 85th Street a separate stop
Redmond Library at 15990 NE 85th Street has study rooms, meeting space and a Welcoming Center. These services add a civic destination to a tour centered on the station or shopping.
A closer look

Take the guide outside.
Walk the routes you would use, visit at different times and compare the details at each property. A neighborhood overview cannot replace seeing the actual home.
- Try your own routes at the times you travel.
- Check parking, street conditions and access at the property.
- Verify school assignment with the district for the exact address.
- Separate the area’s amenities from access offered by the home.
Before you shortlist.
Does this guide define an official boundary?
No. Neighborhood names and official planning areas may differ. Use the cited sources and the specific parcel when a boundary matters.
Can I use the guide to confirm a school assignment?
No. Check the property address directly with the relevant district. Proximity to a campus is not a guarantee of enrollment.
Where can I discuss homes in this area?
Contact Ryan with your area, timeline and priorities. This local preview does not display live property inventory.
