Norkirk is an official neighborhood. North Kirkland is also used more broadly in facility and area names; it should not automatically be treated as the same boundary.
A neighborhood between clear reference points
The municipal Norkirk plan material describes Market Street to the west, the Cross Kirkland Corridor to the east and downtown/Moss Bay to the south. It identifies City Hall among the neighborhood’s civic uses. These are useful orientation points; consult the official map rather than using a facility’s name to assign a specific parcel.
Crestwoods adds a different scale of outdoor space
Crestwoods Park, at 1818 6th Street, is beside the Cross Kirkland Corridor. Kirkland lists soccer and baseball fields, a playground, outdoor exercise equipment and natural trails. The park provides more than a small green square on a map, so allow time to see the different areas and their entrances.
Understand what is available when
The park’s field use can require reservations, and the city publishes informal Free Play times. Its page also lists a planned 2027 synthetic-turf infield conversion for Field 4. That is a future project as checked in October 2026. Do not mistake the project notice for a statement that the new field is already finished.
Compare street life with park access
Start your walk at the prospective home and make the complete trip to the entrance you would use. Note the crossings and the return route. Then inspect the home’s own outdoor space and storage. Our suggestion is to keep park convenience and property functionality as separate comparison items, even when both are important to you.
Look closely at an older or newer home
Norkirk’s planning material describes established homes alongside infill. For any particular showing, focus on the building’s verified condition, layout and permit history rather than assigning quality from its apparent age. If a future alteration matters, investigate that address before relying on examples of projects you notice on neighboring streets.
Neighborhood meetings may be off your block
Kirkland’s Neighborhood Services directory lists Norkirk association meetings at Heritage Hall, 203 Market Street. This provides a specific channel for following local neighborhood issues. Confirm the association’s latest meeting notice before attending; its civic role is distinct from a property’s HOA.
Take the guide outside.
Walk the routes you would use, visit at different times and compare the details at each property. A neighborhood overview cannot replace seeing the actual home.
- Try your own routes at the times you travel.
- Check parking, street conditions and access at the property.
- Verify school assignment with the district for the exact address.
- Separate the area’s amenities from access offered by the home.
Before you shortlist.
Does this guide define an official boundary?
No. Neighborhood names and official planning areas may differ. Use the cited sources and the specific parcel when a boundary matters.
Can I use the guide to confirm a school assignment?
No. Check the property address directly with the relevant district. Proximity to a campus is not a guarantee of enrollment.
Where can I discuss homes in this area?
Contact Ryan with your area, timeline and priorities. This local preview does not display live property inventory.
